My name is Andy and I stayed at the Harrogate Police Treatment Centre from the 4th February for 4 nights for treatment after having surgery on my right knee.
I arrived at 10am quite apprehensive and anxious. I was met at the door by a representative who quickly booked me in and showed me to my room.
After dropping off my bags I was still rather stressed. I was due to see the nurse who instantly calmed me down and took me through my clinical assessment. This was the beginning of what became a relaxing and thoroughly enjoyable stay.
The classes and the Physio provision were first class. The instructor was of the highest quality and could not give me enough information and help. I have never done any classes like Pilates or back mobility and lower limbs but they really helped. I was even provided with links to YouTube where I could access instructional content so I was able to continue my recovery at home.
I would like to make special mention of the member of clinical team who took the relaxation class on Wednesday evening. Wow, I never thought I could feel that relaxed. It was the first night I have slept well in almost 10 years.
The meals at the Police Treatment Centres are also fantastic, I was even given the recipes for some of the food.
All in all I left Harrogate fully relaxed and my knee feeling great. I have another week booked for March to finish off my treatment. I am looking forward to that visit filled with excitement as opposed to trepidation.
