People volunteer for many different reasons. Some have a connection with the Police Treatment Centres through work, family members and friends, some wish to give something back to their community, others come to strengthen their CV by developing new skills. No matter what the reason, volunteering is an excellent way to meet new people and make friends.
Donor Recruitment and Charity Engagement Support: volunteers to help with adhoc administrative tasks i.e. stuffing envelopes, updating records, distributing leaflets etc.
We are also looking for Ambassadors. The DRCE team regularly attend Student Officer inputs and Pre-Retirement seminars to ensure these groups are aware of the benefits of The PTC and The Police Children's Charity. If you would like to find out more; see here.
Drivers and Tour Guides at both Centres: you must hold a current original clean UK or EU drivers licence for the category of vehicle in use. You will enjoy contact with Serving and Retired Police Officers, be articulate and won’t mind assisting our Patients to their rooms. Full training will be given and a company vehicle used. In return, we offer a fantastic environment, lunch (subject to hours volunteered), use of swimming pool & gym and free on-site parking.
Maintenance work at St Andrews: volunteers to help us maintain the grounds at St Andrews, Harrogate. Jobs may include watering the garden, cleaning benches and painting.
