The Police Treatment Centres is a member of The Specialist Clinical Independent Rehabilitation Network (SCIRN)
Created to exchange and disseminate information, SCIRN is new forum of rehabilitation professionals. Our members come from a range of healthcare charities. We are involved in the treatment of those serving in the 'civilian blue light services', the Armed Services, elite sportsmen & women and finally people requiring specialist neurological rehabilitation.
We exchange and disseminate information on the effectiveness of a range of therapeutic interventions and continually evaluate new techniques and methods. The main focus, at all times, is on the benefit for 'the patient'.
The forum is an arena where specialist rehabilitation organisations can:
• Establish and improve clinical standards
• Share common issues and support each other with problem solving
• Provide peer support and review
• Share, skills, knowledge and information
• Create opportunities for staff and service development
By focusing on each patient's physical, psychological, and environmental needs a well managed rehabilitation program can often reverse many disabling conditions, thus helping patients cope with deficits which cannot be reversed by medical care alone.
