Each year a large charity golf day is held at the Fairmont Hotel in St. Andrew’s, Fife. The event includes the days golfing as well as a charity dinner in the evening with guest speaker and a silent auction. The proceeds go to The Police Treatment Centres each year.
Although the event was held back in the summer of last year, it always takes some time for all the money to be gathered in and then for a suitable date to be found in some very busy people’s diaries before an actual presentation of the cheque can be made. Last year’s proceeds were handed over to Castlebrae fundraiser, Graeme, recently at a presentation held at Stirling area Police Station. A cheque for the fantastic sum of £6,000 was presented to Graeme by DCC Iain Livingstone of Police Scotland and Austin Dorrian from the Scottish Police Credit Union.
The event is organised mainly by PC David Scott, a firearms officer from Fife but last year for the first time was sponsored and backed by the Scottish Police Credit Union. Plans for this year’s event are already underway and the SPCU have agreed to back the event for at least a further three years thus securing this annual donation to the PTC for the foreseeable future.
If you are interested in taking part in this year’s event on 5th June then please contact Graeme on 01764 664369 or email at
