The Charity’s Treatment Centres are open for treatment throughout the year excluding the period in which Christmas and New Year fall. On all other Bank Holidays the Centres are open for admission and treatment.
Admission to the centre for treatment will normally be for a one or two week duration dependant on clinical need. An extended period (normally of a further week) may be advised by the physiotherapy or nursing team in extreme and unique clinical situations and will be considered after taking all factors into account e.g. occupancy demand.
The period of admission for a serving officer is either one week or two dependent on which will achieve the maximum benefit from treatment
If in the opinion of the clinical team a shorter stay would be sufficient to achieve a positive clinical outcome then an initial one week admission period will be offered.
If the retired officer is a current donor, dependent upon serving officer demand for admission, and subject to capacity (accommodation and treatment), retired officers who apply for admission and who meet the clinical criteria will normally be offered a one week period of admission.
By making a monthly donation, the PTC can support YOU during difficult times. Your donation gives you access to free, expert, police-specific treatment, at one of our 2 centres, regardless of whether your injury occurred on or off duty.
If you are a serving or retired police officer and have suffered an injury or illness, our experienced and fully qualified staff may be able to assist you.
We are a registered charity funded almost entirely by donations from serving officers and members of the public. We need your support.
