On March 22 Lancashire Police Federation hosted an evening of 1920’s style glitz and glamour  at The De Vere Herons Reach Hotel, Blackpool and raised the grand total of £11,000 for the Police Treatment Centres.

Over 170 guests attended the Gatsby themed dinner and enjoyed a sparkling reception followed by a three course dinner. Fundraising on the night included a grand raffle; heads and tails and a silent auction. Funds were further boosted by matched funding from Barclay’s Bank which was organised by Lynn Ioannou.

The evening was brilliantly compered by Alan Firth and guests enjoyed dancing to the Blues Brothers on tour.

Last year we appealed to Police Federations and Benevolent Funds for support to help refurbish the treatment pool at St Andrews and once again Lancashire Police Federation answered our request this time by choosing to make us the beneficiary of their annual dinner.

“It was truly a glittering evening. To raise £11,000 is an incredible achievement and we would like to thank every involved in making the night so successful. In particular Lynn Ioannou worked very hard to make sure the evening ran smoothly and to collect prizes for the grand raffle. We would also like to thank the ladies from Barclay’s Bank who came along to help on the night and to Barclays Bank for match funding part of the evening. Last year we treated 174 officers from Lancashire and a further 34 retired officers many of them will have used the pool as part of their treatment. Now that we have refurbished the St Andrews pool it will be available for many more Lancashire officers in the future should they need treatment.” said Deborah, Fundraiser at the Police Treatment Centres.
