Several members of staff at Castlebrae, and a couple of patients too, are taking part in this years Scottish Tough Mudder event to raise funds for the charity. Nine staff members have ‘agreed’ to take part in the challenge under the leadership and encouragement of Castlebrae’s Fitness Supervisor Douglas Jay.
The Scottish event takes place on Sunday 15th June in Dalkeith Country Estate just south of Edinburgh and is an all day event
Tough Mudder events are hardcore 10-12 mile obstacle courses designed by Special Forces to test your all round strength, stamina, determination, and camaraderie. Only 78% of entrants successfully complete each challenge (now THERE’S a challenge alright!). As the leading company in the booming obstacle course industry, Tough Mudder has already challenged half a million inspiring participants worldwide.
Our own Tough Mudders are hard in training at the moment but they need your encouragement to keep going. You can encourage them by sponsoring the team through their Justgiving fundraising page at:
Our team will have to go through mud, fire, ice-water, and 10,000 volts of electricity (yes that’s correct, 10,000 volts of electricity!). They will have to get over 12 foot walls and through underground mud tunnels. But YOU don’t have to do any of that. Just let them take the strain and the pain and you simply sponsor them instead. All the money raised goes towards our work at Castlebrae helping treat injured or ill police officers and retired officers.
Please give generously.
