The Police Treatment Centres awarded certificated in Investors In People (IIP) & Health Wellbeing Good Practice Awards
Having been one of the first companies across Yorkshire to achieve the Health and Wellbeing Award as part of Investors in People back in 2010, the charity continues to excel in its people management and development with its current achievement of once again being awarded IIP for 2013.
During October the Police Treatment Centre were reviewed on all activities relating to management support, training, communication and development to determine whether they were still meeting the required standards in all of these areas to once again achieve the Investors in People Standard.
Not only was the charity awarded this standard following the review, but also advised due to there being considerable evidence of good practice across the extended framework that the PTC should consider assessment as a Bronze, Silver or Gold organisation in the future.
The Assessor commented, “The Police Treatment Centres remain an exciting place to be. It is brimming with outstanding people from the Chief Executive to all team members in both a clinical and supporting role. The Charity continues to excel in people management strategies and has continued to improve since the previous Investors in People Review. The key principles of both the Investors in People standard and those of the Health & Wellbeing standard are embedded in all activities whether business or clinical – it is difficult to see where one standard begins and where one ends and this is of course the sign of an excellent organisation.”
Comments received from staff within the charity were very encouraging, and ranged from;
“Everyone is treated the same – I can say that with pride”
“I was given time off to take my child to the Dr. That really took the stress off me”
“My manager really supports me and listens to me”
“I know exactly what to expect of my manager – everything is consistent here”
Steve Cook, Human Resource Manager, said, “I am thrilled with the comments received from the staff at the centre and as a result the award that we have received. We continue to look after our staff and as a result our labour turnover and absence levels remain low. Everyone within the organisation should feel very proud as we continue to be seen as an employee of choice”.
