“What can I say about the PTC?
Well, from the minute you walk into reception you are made to feel welcome. I was nervous as I knew that my time there with the goal in mind to help me on my journey to better mental and physical health. Facing your issues can be daunting, an everyday and night anxiety, yet when I spoke to the nursing team and went through how my typical week unfolded, it felt like such a weight had lifted form me. I instantly knew I was going to be taken care of.
That is exactly what they do, from the Nurses, to counsellors, the housekeepers, treatment personnel, physios, restaurant staff, reception and chefs (apologies if I have missed anyone). They all make you feel like you are the centre of their attention.
This helped me massively as I felt at ease, able to open up and look at addressing any issues. I knew from the outset that I was not there to be fixed, but to be helped on my journey. I have had issues for a large proportion of my life, so two weeks was not going to wipe the slate clean. Instead, it armed me with the tools I need to tackle anxiety, be able to relax, and have gained an ability to learn to like myself again.
This service is invaluable, even in the group sessions I felt relaxed and was able to relate to others, which helps if you feel alone.
I personally cannot thank each and every individual and team enough. It is such a relief to know that the PTC exists for us, and that I know I got the best of everything I could. I arrived with an open mind and willingness to share my issues, I left with new experiences and a toolkit to aid my recovery. They are all amazing people.
Thank you PTC”.
