Today, we had the honour of welcoming Paul and June Bone to St Andrews for an intimate ceremony where we remembered their daughter Fiona and marked their ongoing generous support of the Police Treatment Centres, with the opening of the 'Fiona Bone Room'.
The Bedroom is one of the new rooms within the new Clinical Services Wing, and has a lovely outlook over our grounds.
Paul and June have been great supporters of the Police Treatment Centres since visiting on an open day and making a very generous donation on the day. Paul is also a regular volunteer at our Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive - we hope he will be back to don the high-vis again in 2022!
Paul and June were joined by Ian Hanson, Previous GMP Federation Chair, and Ian Hopkins, Previous GMP CC and their partners.
They kindly provided the lovely photo of Fiona for us, along with a very moving memory of her for anyone passing to read and remember.
Fiona grew up with a real sense of adventure. She loved to travel and try new experiences. Whether it was scuba diving, rock climbing, backpacking around Europe or learning to play the guitar, she was always looking for a new challenge.
Along with her sense of adventure, Fiona had a natural ability to make friends and bring out the best in people. Her playful sense of humour and her infectious smile quickly put those around her at ease.
Fiona’s devotion to her family was paramount, and her unconditional love still resonates with those who cherish and remember her.
She is deeply missed.
