Following an appeal to Police Federations and Police Benevolent Funds earlier this year to help with the refurbishment costs of the Police Treatment Centres, St Andrews Treatment Pool we were pleased with the response with many digging into their coffers and making a donation. Others have responded by making the Police Treatment Centres the beneficiary of their annual dinner dance in 2014.
The treatment pool is a vital part of the treatment we provide not only for our patients attending for physiotherapy but also those attending for stress and support. Without these generous donations towards the cost of refurbishing the 30 year old pool we would have had to consider our treatment options.
A presentation by Craig Grandison, Treasurer to West Yorkshire JBB led to them making a donation of £1 per officer – a total of £5,008. Craig is pictured here with Nick Smart, Chairman of West Yorkshire Police Federation handing over the “large cheque” to Mark Oxley, Head of Clinical Services at St Andrews.
Other donations have come from: Merseyside; North Wales; South Yorkshire (Welfare Fund) and Lincolnshire. Northumbria, Lancashire and Lincolnshire have pledged donations from their forthcoming annual dinners in 2014.
We are grateful to you all for splashing out and helping us to support your officers following injury or illness.
