We are delighted to be welcoming Yorkshire Legend Sir Gary Verity to St Andrews this weekend as he takes part in the 50km Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive.
Sir Gary said “I am looking forward to tackling the first-ever Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive and it’s a great way to raise funds and awareness for such a worthwhile cause.
Both routes feature roads which have been used on the Tour de Yorkshire, and the Côte de Greenhow Hill on the 99.9km option will be particularly challenging!
Both routes take in some stunning scenery and it will be a thoroughly enjoyable day.”
Sir Gary is the Chief Executive of Welcome to Yorkshire, and has successfully raised the profile of Yorkshire at a regional, national and international level, most notably leading the winning bid to bring the Grand Départ of the Tour de France to Yorkshire in 2014 and was instrumental in the entire process from start to finish.
Pre-Entry to the Back on the Beat Cycle Sportive closes on Thursday 11th May at Midnight - make sure you sign up before then to benefit from a cheaper entry!

On the day entry will cost £30 for the 99.9km and £25 for the 50km.
