On July 23 British Transport Police Leeds took on British Transport Police London at Garforth Town Football Club with the proceeds going to the Police Treatment Centres. The match was sponsored by East Midland Trains.
In a competitive match British Transport Leeds emerged as the winners on a very warm and sunny evening. A raffle was held falling the match with some great prizes donated by Virgin Trains and East Midland Trains.
The Police Treatment Centres were chosen as the charity for this year following the treatment given recently to one of the organisers. John Moses, a BTP officer based in Leeds attended following a leg injury and was so impressed by the treatment he received that he recommended that the charity be this year's beneficiary.
"The treatment I received was amazing, the physio staff are truly experts in their field but also have a unique understanding of the role we do. The charity does not receive statutory funding and is for the most part funded by serving officers but with falling police numbers the charity needs to raise extra funds. I am pleased that we were able to do our bit."
Currently around 40% of BTP officers donate to The Police Treatment Centres. If you are not currently donating and would like to become eligible for free treatment click
