A Retirement Gift - October 2009
When Geoff Inskip retired his retirement party doubled as a fundraising event.
Geoff retired from Northumbria after 30 years service and asked his friends and family to make charitable donations instead of buying him cards and gifts to mark the occasion. He also organised a raffle and auction to raise a staggering £3457 for the PTC.
Geoff said: “This was my way of giving something back having used the centres in the past, both are absolutely excellent. I was overwhelmed by the generosity of my colleagues, friends and family. I would like to thank everyone who helped me.”
Geoff was helped in his fundraising efforts by his wife Deborah. In recognition of her support for the Police Treatment Centres, Deborah’s employers, The Royal Bank of Scotland, awarded her £500 to donate to the charity. Many thanks to Geoff and Deborah!
