Mr Herbert talks to staff and patients at St Andrews.

Nick Herbert visits St Andrews

The Police Minister, Nick Herbert, paid a visit to St Andrews to learn more about the treatment available for injured and ill police officers.

In July Mr Herbert took a break from the annual conference of the Association of Chief Police Officers, which was being held at the Harrogate International Centre, and spent more than an hour chatting to staff and patients at St Andrews.

Mr Herbert was shown the Charity’s promotion film before being taken on a tour of the clinical departments. He saw first-hand physio treatment in action and spoke to officers to find out what they thought of the services provided at St Andrews.

The gym equipment was of particular interest to Mr Herbert, who even got a quick core body strength workout when fitness instructor Juliet Finley gave him a demonstration of the popular flexibars.

Whilst on the tour Mr Herbert was shown one of the bedrooms we are currently raising money to improve. CEO Michael Baxter said, “This was a great opportunity to show the Minister how the previous Home Office donation we received has been spent to good effect, while highlighting our plans for the future."
