Speaking at the meeting, Fife Police Federation Secretary Sergeant Ian Muir said that all Scottish Police Forces were actively supporting the PTC’s upgrade plans. For its part, Fife Constabulary had agreed to donate £10,000 towards the ongoing fund raising.
Fife Federation Assistant Secretary, Stevie Herd, later handed over the Charity Fund cheque to Raymond Pratt, Chairman of the PTC’s Board of Trustees. PC Herd said “ I am currently receiving treatment at Auchterarder following surgery to my shoulder. The physiotherapy is noticeably helping me return to full fitness a lot quicker than would otherwise be possible. Over the years, I have seen the benefit the PTC has provided Police Officers in their fight to return to full fitness. However, it is essential that Auchterarder is upgraded to enable staff to continue to provide the best and most modern treatment available. “
Receiving the cheque, Mr Pratt thanked Fife Constabulary Charity Fund members for the generous donation and said “Scottish Police Officers already pay monthly donations to the PTC for their own treatment. It says volumes about our colleagues from Fife Constabulary that they are prepared to donate so generously on top of what they already pay.”
