Classes
A range of fitness, wellbeing and strength classes are held at the Police Treatment Centres. The classes are mostly taught by our physiotherapists and fitness instructors with some classes taught by outside specialist instructors eg Tai Chi.
Classes are often used as a supplement to physiotherapy and respite treatments; guidance is given to individuals regarding what classes are suitable and the PTC tries to offer a variety of activities to meet individual needs. Feedback shows that many patients enjoy being able to try a new class and the aim of the PTC is to encourage officers to continue with classes when they leave the Centre.
Patients will be directed to attend certain classes in line with the treatment they are receiving and it is important officers follow the guidance given in respect of class attendance.
