Castlebrae, the Police Treatment Centre in Auchterarder
Castlebrae

Castlebrae

Since Castlebrae opened its doors in 1996 almost 20,000 injured and ill police officers have received treatment that has improved their health and wellbeing and helped and great many return to work sooner than expected.

Demand on the services at Castlebrae continues to increase and there is now great pressure on the Centre’s facilities.

For example, the size of the gym and fitness studio mean class sizes have to be limited and there is insufficient exercise equipment to meet current demand. The treatment pool is too small and there is no facility to provide hydrotherapy which, as we have seen at St Andrews in Harrogate, benefits a large proportion of our patients.

Our plans for Castlebrae will result in all of the clinical facilities being located in one area; this will significantly improve the service our clinicians can offer to patients. Additionally this will free up rooms which can be converted into bedrooms, thereby allowing hundreds more officers to attend the Centre every year.
