The funds are applied as outlined below (please note that Christmas gifts are paid to all children in December):
● Grants are paid quarterly (in advance) to the remaining parent/guardian until the child leaves full-time education
● University/college grants are paid to children in further education (initial course only, not postgraduate studies)
People over the school leaving age who have lost a police officer parent, but who are unable to earn their own living as a result of having special needs:
● Grants are paid quarterly in advance
● Spring and Summer gifts are paid in April and July respectively
Additionally any Police Officer, who is or was a donor to the charity whilst serving, who suffers total incapacitation from earning a living in any way may be eligible for a grant towards caring for their children, also paid quarterly.
Grants are currently “banded” to reflect the income level of the household to ensure funds are put to charitable use and support those most in need or who are suffering hardship.
